Club Update (Revised 3rd June)

In line with latest guidance from the LTA, from Wednesday 3rd June Doubles play is now permitted in a strictly limited fashion with social distancing and personal hygeine measures applied at all times.

Court 4 is the only court playable at present – and should be accessed via top gate (near bowls club entrance). Entry via the combination lock – code has been provided to all members.  Availability has not posed problems thus far and the new courts should be available by the end of June.

A booking system will be in operation – please contact David Austin:
Call, Text or Whatsapp 07710 011657 or email: austin4.family@btopenworld.com
Bookings can be made a minimum of 48hours in advance in 1 hour blocks (on the hour).
Bookings will appear in our website diary. https://kirbytennisclub.co.uk/diary/

From Sunday 7th June sessions will be increased to 90 mins per booking. With fixed timeslots being introduced at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, 12:30pm, 2pm, 3:30pm, 5pm, 6:30pm and 8pm (except when courts are prebooked by Jess for coaching – please see Diary)

Play is permitted without booking but of course, Pre-booked courts will have priority. So check the diary before travelling. If court 4 is in use by a non-booked pair and a second non-booked pair arrives, it is hoped that a reasonable compromise will be reached e.g. limit play to one-hour.

Ground rules (Until further notice):

Court use is for Paid-up members and their guests only – membership payment details can be found here

The Guest fee is £4 per visit and can either be paid for by BACS or left in the honesty tin.

Singles AND Doubles play is now permitted with sensible social distancing measures at all times.

On arrival at the club, please allow any players leaving adequate space and time.

Accessing the courts and facilities will involve contact with potentially contaminated surfaces. Personal gloves/sanitiser use is advised. Tennis balls should not be shared between groups.

The clubhouse is closed and access is only allowed in case of emergency to access first aid equipment; in which case the incident must be reported to Barbara. The kitchen/washroom facilities are not to be used.
The floodlights are not to be used and have been electrically isolated.

A supply of new balls will also be in the shed for purchase (£4-50 per tin), together with the honesty box and logbook.
