Open Day 18th May 2019

Kirby Tennis Club’s open day is taking place on Saturday 18th May and we would love to see you, your family and friends there! This event is open to all ages and abilities, whether you are new to tennis or have played before. Come along any time between 09:30 – 14:30 and play on one of our 4 hard courts. Adult and junior rackets and balls will be provided, and mini tennis for 10 & unders. Coaching and hitting will be available with our coach, Jess. Refreshments and cakes will also be on offer, along with information/advice about membership categories, coaching sessions and special offers.

Kirby Tennis Club welcomes Jess Lott – Jess is an LTA Level 2 accredited coach who recently moved to the area. Jess will be assisting Curtis and running all junior group sessions while Curtis is on holiday (July 13th -31st).  Jess is also available for 1:1 coaching and contact details can be found on the Coaching page.

Open Day – 12th May 2018

Kirby Tennis Club are pleased to be participating in the Great British Tennis Weekend with an open day on Saturday 12th May from 10am to 3.30pm. Everyone welcome – Play for free – all standards of play catered for, Join our junior & adult group coaching sessions throughout the day, Meet our coach Curtis Austin, Check out the facilities, Meet match team and social players during the afternoon, Have a cup of tea, Enjoy the pleasant surroundings.

Tennis for Kids 2018

LTA Tennis for Kids Programme

Curtis has successfully completed his training for the Tennis for Kids programme 2018 and will initially be running the following sessions for children ages 7-11

 Monday 7th May – Monday 18th June (excl half term) – 6 week programme 16:45 – 17:45
Saturday 12th May – Saturday 23rd June (excl half term) – 6 week programme 12:00 – 13:00
Tuesday 29th May – Wednesday 30th May (half term camp) – 2 day programme 10:00 – 13:00
For just £25 every child will receive 6 high-quality lessons, developed by experts at the LTA, as well as a special Tennis for Kids Babolat racket, ball set, and personalised T-shirt delivered right to their door.

Halloween “Monster Smash” – Fun Tennis Competition

This years Halloween “Monster Smash” fun tennis competition at Kirby has been scheduled for Thursday 26th October between 5pm and 7pm – open to children between the ages of 5 and 16, with fun games and matchplay tennis – with prizes to be won – cost £6 per person. Let Curtis know if you want to take part.


Curtis is pleased to announce a full programme of coaching for Adults & Juniors over the school holidays this year.

There are junior tennis camps for tots (3-4), mini (5-11) and junior (12-16) age groups. In addition there are
Adult sessions for Ladies (aimed at Ladies new to the game) and both daytime and evening Intermediate sessions.

Private Lessons on a 4 for price of 3 basis are also available between 22nd July and 3rd September 2017.

FREE Tennis Lessons (Ages 5 -8)

Curtis will be running Tennis for Kids sessions as follows;

Sundays 10:30 to 11:30 & 11:45 to 12:45 (Age 5 – 8) – commencing April 23rd for 6 weeks
Tuesdays 18:00 to 19:00 (Ages 5 – 8) – commencing April 25th for 6 weeks
Wednesdays 16:30 to 17:30 (Ages 5-8) – commencing April 26th for 6 weeks

LTA Lev3 Coach

Curtis passed his recent LTA assessment and is now a fully qualified LTA Lev3 Coach – Congratulations & Well Done Curtis !!

Benenden Festival “Aussie Open” – Junior Fun Tennis


Curtis will be running the first of the 2017 Benenden Festival events on Monday 13th February between 1:30 and 3:30pm at Kirby – cost £5 per person.  The theme for this event is the “Aussie Open” and it would be great to see as many mini/junior players as possible – once again there will be fun games and competitions – with lots of prizes to be won.
